My professional career began by practicing law.  I soon turned to business and in 1995 I founded Alliance Holdings, Inc., an employee owned holding company.  Alliance Holdings, Inc.’s mission is to offer closely held companies unique solutions to facilitate the transfer of ownership in their businesses. The merger and acquisition strategies developed to accomplish this mission center around the Alliance Holdings, Inc. Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Trust. From 1995 through 2012 Alliance Holdings, Inc. acquired over fifteen lower-middle market operating companies and achieved an enterprise value of approximately $100 million. As president and chief operating officer, my responsibilities included the oversight of all aspects of the business including, but not limited to, developing new investment opportunities, due diligence review, acquisition and loan closings, portfolio management and ESOP administration.
