Real estate salesperson at The Daly Group, Keller Williams Philadelphia
I became interested in real estate investing years ago while working as a clinical research assistant at The University of Pennsylvania. I wanted an education on how to build long-term wealth outside of my 9-5 job.
Thus far, I have learned that real estate is a people business. Learning how to talk to clients and properly diagnose their needs is equally as important as subject matter expertise.
A fellow real estate investor recommended SCORE to me when I was in need of guidance and mentorship.
SCORE, specifically my mentor Dr. Richer, helped me to determine next steps at a critical point. Ultimately, with guidance from my mentor, I decided that joining a brokerage was the best move for me in my journey towards building my real estate business.
My SCORE mentor Dr. Richer has been tremendously helpful in teaching me the language of real estate. By providing me insight from his personal experience as an investor, I am learning not only how to converse intelligently with my current and future clientele, but also how to determine their needs and how I can best serve them.
Seek guidance from a mentor who has already done what you are trying to do.
